These textiles were hand crafted by hill tribe women from the Southwestern provinces of GuiZhou and YunNan, China. The time-honored art form of embroidery, weaving, and dying is fast disappearing with modernization in Southwestern China. The vast majority of young girls no longer learn how to make textiles.  Consequently, many of these textiles are heirlooms, ranging from the early 20th to late 20th century.
