OUR STORY

Red Gingko merges tribal cultures with modern aesthetics through the design of contemporary accessories and clothing that are inspired by traditional designs found on antique tribal textiles from Southwestern China.  Our mission is to provide job opportunities and a fair income to hill tribe women of this region through the revitalization of their textile art tradition and to increase awareness of traditional Southeast Asian hill tribe cultures.

Red Gingko is the result of our founder's love of art, passion for travel, and dedication to economic development in the most impoverished regions in Asia.  It all started in the late 1990's when she discovered the beauty of hill tribe textiles while traveling in southwestern China.  After learning that the hill tribe communities in Southwestern China are some of the most impoverished people in China, it was only natural to combine her interest in Asian tribal art and international development.
